Looking for XHTML ul, li, span menu output for VM categories?
Looking to be able to specify:
 Module Class Suffix?
 Menu ID Suffix?
 Menu Class Suffix?
 Store ID Override?
 Category Start?
 Level Start?
 Level Stop?
 Show # of Sub-categories?
Show # of Products in Categories?
 Show Products in Menu?
 Hide Specific Category Items(s)?
 Hide Specific Product Item(s)?
 Always Show Sub Items?
 Create Flyout menu?
Use Category.Product Images as Menu Items?
Force SSL, Force Non-SSL, or Ignore?

This mod will create a regular Joomla style output and give you the ability to specify a specific category to display ONLY, or use as a products menu! Feature rich with other options!

Here's an example category set for virtuemart:

  • By Product
    • Watches
    • Shoes
      • Big Shoes
      • Small Shoes
    • Hats
  • By Application
    • Firemen
    • Police
      • Vests
      • Hats
    • Saftey

Maybe you just want to display the sub menu "By Product" to create a menu like:

  • Watches
  • Shoes
    • Big Shoes
    • Small Shoes
  • Hats
You can do it with this mod easily. Specify the start cat id for "By Product" and a start level of 1.

If you wanted just:

  • Big Shoes
  • Small Shoes
You can do this by: specifying the start cat id for "Shoes" and a start level of 1.

Or, with update 1.2, you can specify a STOP level as well, if you want:

  • By Product
    • Watches
    • Shoes
    • Hats
  • By Application
    • Firemen
    • Police
    • Saftey
In the above example, I do not ever want to show level 3, so I:
specify no start category id, which means it starts with master cats, and a start level of 1 and end level of 2, meaning it will show the first two levels (master and 1st sub).

You may chose to always display sub categories below specified start cat or not. Use as products menu. Hide specific category(s) or product(s) menu items. You may add/edit all your suffixes. You may even override Joomla Itemid for store. If you are having difficulties with using a Joomla or VM menus as your VM menu then this is your solution!

Essential and feature-packed VM module
by Sean Klotsman
on August 3, 2010
After being thoroughly frustrated with the modules available for listing categories and products in VM (there are many for categories, but maybe one or two apart from this one that display products), Forrest created the ultimate category/product listing module and it's become an essential part of any VM installation.

Offering you features ranging from displaying or hiding certain categories or products in the list, to displaying product and category images either alone or together with their names, to a built-in flyout menu for modern multi-column display of the catalog, this module has got it all. Not to mention fully stylable HTML with plenty of CSS hooks, and the ability to display SEF-enabled links. There's very little more I could ask from a module like this. :)

Hats off to Mr Chamberlain for making the one and only listing module you'll ever need for VM. And on top of that it's FREE! :D

Simply the best menu model around
by Tim
on July 21, 2010
This menu module is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you so much for your effort.

The amount of customisation available from the admin panel is simply amazing.

I'm only able to think of one minor feature that I might suggest you incorporate: The ability to optionally define an image used for the categories, over-riding the block bullet point graphic inherited from the site CSS.

Keep up the great work!

I have found this module to be very useful indeed and will probably be using it on all my future VM clients websites. I've been needing this module for a long time!
