This ePDQ MPI/HSBC MPI component for VirtueMart adds a payment method which enables you to accept credit/debit card payments with your Barclaycard Merchant Services ePDQ or HSBC MPI account.

This component uses the ClearCommerce gateway which is used by both Barclaycard Merchant Services ePDQ and by HSBC for direct API payments, i.e. payment pages hosted on the merchant's web site.

You need a ePDQ or HSBC account which is MPI-enabled. MPI stands for Merchant Payment Interface. This component does not enable CPI (Cardholder Payment Interface) payments.

This is a Credit-card type payment method using an API to connect to the payment provider. Customers remain on your site and enter card details on your site.

You need a SSL Certificate to use this payment method. This component adds 'Start date' and 'Issue number' fields to the payment page for Maestro/Solo cards.

This component is compatible with 3-D Secure/Verified by Visa authentication for HSBC only.  3D Secure/VBV for ePDQ is not yet available for shared PHP hosting. We are in communication ePDQ and are expecting this feature to be available within the next few months.
